ABOUT US

ABOUT US

We are a Charity Foundation raising funds for Australia based children’s, disability and medical research charities via some of corporate Australia's most anticipated fund-raising events. We aim to add value by mobilising funds from financial and corporate Australia whilst providing a valuable networking opportunity for our corporate sponsors.  Each year we distribute over $1 million to 20 or more charities. We tap the marketing and customer entertainment dollars of all our sponsors and turn these into charity dollars through number of major events:

  • Australia’s Biggest Charity Golf Day & Black-Tie Gala Dinner with massive Charity Auction
  • Australia’s Biggest Charity Race Day at Rosehill Gardens
  • Financial & Media Markets Charity Regatta on Sydney Harbour

We also run an annual Art Union Prize Draw

History

The ASX Group and Thomson Reuters Australia (formerly Reuters) joined forces in 1999 to form a charity foundation with the objective of helping Australian-based children’s, disability and medical research charities by organising fundraising events in conjunction with the financial markets.

To date, the combined funds distributed to a wide range of charities totals just under $29 million.

Participation

Participants in Golf Day, Race Day and Regatta include top executives from financial and corporate Australia. The CEOs, Chairmen and Senior Executives of companies like ASX, Thomson Reuters, Westpac, NAB, TPG, Morgan Stanley, BT and many others take part in the events and compete side by side in some of corporate Australia’s most anticipated and enjoyable events.

Sponsorships

Sponsors are sought to cover as many of the costs as possible to maximise the amount distributed to the charities.

Secretariat

The Board is made up of executives from both the ASX and Thomson Reuters with an Independent Chair. The detailed fundraising is arranged through a full and part-time Secretariat headed by a General Manager.
